Handcrafted Cocktails & a Hip Modern Engagement: A Fun Trendy Engagement Session in St. Augustine, Florida.
When I first started talking to Hannah & Lee about their engagement session over our first phone call, I knew it was going to be good! Hannah & Lee are both incredible hair stylists which means a couple of things: they’re GORGEOUS (Inside & Out), Trendy, and very very Stylish. We planned the first part of their shoot at The Ice Plant in downtown St. Augustine.
This hip local bar set the perfect tone for the start of the engagement session. For their photos, we really wanted to capture the fun modern side of their relationship with some relaxed intimate shots. We were able to get a ton of great photos around the top level of the bar. The huge open seating area really allows guests to feel like you are in your own private space…which is key for getting some really fun lovey-dovey shots.
The cool part about the Ice Plant is that is actually once was an actual Ice Plant in the early 1920s. The building dates back to the early 20th century where they would provide ice to the local fisherman and shrimping boats. The outside of the building has a cool industrial appearance which totally went with the vibe of the engagement photos. I am OBSESSED with the truck that sits outside the bar. It has this steampunk vintage feel to it that would make anyone fall in love.
Mixing it up for the Second Part of the Session:
(Pun Intended) I’m full of bad dad jokes. We took to the beautiful streets of St. Augustine. The stunning architecture of this city really creates a backdrop for some incredible portraits. The geometric designs of the buildings enhanced the modern vibe we were going for with the photos. My favorite portraits from this part of the photoshoot were the images taken at Flagler College. The private hallways and Spanish architecture have this moody romantic vibe that allows a couple to feel close. The “Oldest City” did not disappoint for some epic modern, fun, and love-filled engagement photos.
